Getting Ish Done
There’s a fire burning inside of me to get shit done! I’ve evaluated my energy levels and the reality is, by the time I put Harlem to bed, I’m drained and those passion projects that are close to my heart go undone. This then makes me feel like I’m exerting a lot of energy but not truly making any progress. You know the feeling of being on a rat wheel? Doing a lot and really doing nothing at all.
I got this idea the other day, what if I shift my day? I’m practically useless by 8:30 at night and just want to veg on the couch, watch tv, then go to bed. What if I get some sleep when I’m tired and work when I have the energy? Duh! What if I shift my 6:30am to 12:30am days to 5:30am to 11:30pm? (Yes, I need more sleep, but stay with me here.) If I pray, workout, and tackle my passion projects before work, I can give the best of my energy to those tasks, make real progress, and feel accomplished.
I’m sure this isn’t something new, people do this all the time right? Well I’ve never been a morning person, but something’s gotta give. And so far it’s going well. I am checking items off my list AND working out has given me even more energy.
